The suspected murderer of Takeoff, a member of the Migos group, has been formally indicted by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
Patrick Xavier Clark, the alleged killer, has been charged by a grand jury for the shooting that claimed the life of the Atlanta rapper in 2022. Clark’s legal proceedings and ultimate fate are still uncertain. He was arrested and charged on December 2, 2022, following the murder at a Houston bowling alley.
Takeoff, part of the Migos trio, was tragically shot in the early hours of November 1, 2022, during a private party at 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston. The altercation escalated into gunfire, resulting in fatal gunshot wounds to Takeoff’s head, torso, and arm, according to the Harris County Medical Examiner. He was pronounced dead at the scene, while two others were injured and hospitalized.
A memorial service was held at the State Farm Arena on November 11, 2022, to honor Takeoff’s memory in his hometown. Detectives made a significant breakthrough in the investigation three weeks after the funeral. They found fingerprints on a wine bottle that led them to the suspected killer, Patrick Clark.
Surveillance footage indicated that Clark’s gunfire was responsible for Takeoff’s death. Records showed that Clark had purchased plane tickets to Mexico and obtained an expedited passport following the incident, but he was arrested two days before his planned departure.
One month after his arrest, Patrick Clark was released on a $1 million bond, secured by a concerned citizen. The bond was not posted by Clark or his family, but by someone who believed in Clark’s innocence. The attorney representing the alleged killer clarified this information in a statement.
