Gunna, the Georgia-born rapper also known as Sergio Kitchens, has made a triumphant return to the music scene with his latest release. However, not everyone is singing his praises. Gunna’s comeback comes in the midst of public backlash from fellow rappers who have accused him of betraying his YSL label boss Young Thug and his co-defendants by accepting an Alford plea deal in a state RICO case in Fulton County, Georgia.
One of Gunna’s most vocal critics is Boosie Badazz, who didn’t hold back when asked about the possibility of collaborating with Gunna for a massive payout. Boosie, known for his straightforward demeanor, made it clear that he has no interest in associating with a “rat” and wouldn’t even discuss the matter further. He emphasized that no amount of money could tempt him to work with someone he considers disloyal.
In a recent encounter in New York City, Boosie didn’t mince words, calling out Gunna as well as others in the industry who he believes have compromised their integrity. Referring to the abundance of similar artists, Boosie quipped, he said: “With no tax?” asked Boosie Badazz. “I don’t wanna talk about a rat. Give me a billion dollars… No, I ain’t gonna even say it… I don’t want to incriminate myself with what I would do with a billion dollars… what I would do to a rat if they gave me a rat to do business with for a billion dollars.” then he add: “They got a lotta Gunnas in this sewer. We’re in New York City. I see about three Gunnas right now. One just went under the sewer.”
Gunna, undeterred by the criticism, dropped his latest track, “Bread & Butter,” on June 2. Produced by Turbo, Omar Grand, and Cam Griffin, the single was released under the Young Stoner Life Records/300 Entertainment label. Accompanied by a captivating black-and-white music video, the song showcases Gunna’s signature style and lyrical prowess.
While Gunna’s return to the spotlight has sparked controversy, his loyal fan base continues to support his musical endeavors. The release of “Bread & Butter” marks a significant milestone in Gunna’s career, highlighting his resilience in the face of adversity and his commitment to delivering exceptional music to his dedicated followers.
