In the wake of recent developments, Duane “Keefe D” Davis, the alleged perpetrator in 2Pac’s tragic 1996 murder, doesn’t seem particularly perturbed, at least judging by the footage of his recent apprehension.
According body cam footage obtained by TMZ, showing the 60-year-old calmly being taken into custody during his morning walk on Thursday (October 5). Despite the arrest, Keefe D’s primary concern was quenching his thirst in the scorching Las Vegas morning heat, where he asked officers for water.
The South Side Compton Crip appeared to revel in the notoriety surrounding his alleged involvement in the historic 1996 event, boldly stating to an officer that he was being apprehended for “the biggest case in Las Vegas history.”
When the officer expressed astonishment at the nearly three-decade gap before an arrest was made, Keefe D responded with confidence, asserting, “I ain’t worried ’cause I ain’t did shit.”
He even made light of the situation, playfully boasting about his experience when told to take a seat inside the police vehicle. Keefe D was taken into custody on September 29 and now faces charges of murder with the use of a deadly weapon with a gang enhancement, as per court documents.
Prior to his arrest, Las Vegas police conducted a search at the Henderson, Nevada residence of Davis’ wife in July. Several items, including computers, a cellphone, and hard drive, were confiscated during the operation.
Davis is accused of masterminding the tragic drive-by shooting on September 7, 1996, that claimed the life of 2Pac. He is believed to have provided the murder weapon to either his nephew Orlando Anderson or Deandre Smith.
Authorities contend that the attack was an act of “retribution” against the beloved rapper, who, along with his entourage, had a confrontation with Anderson at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas just hours before the tragic incident.
