Drake’s latest release, “Search & Rescue,” dropped in April 2023. Although it reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, it received mixed reviews. Some consider it a mediocre song, while die-hard Drake fans either adore it or argue that it grows on you.
The majority of the song features Drake alone, except for an unexpected bridge from Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner. However, this wasn’t always the case.
Lil Durk has been having a fantastic year. His single, “All My Life ft. J. Cole,” currently sits at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100, with nearly 75.5 million streams on Spotify.
Additionally, his new album, “Almost Healed,” debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200. Interestingly, Lil Durk was originally supposed to be featured on “Search & Rescue,” but his verse got cut. Now, an audio leak of that verse has surfaced.
Although the leaked verse is lengthy, one particular section is causing a stir. In the middle of the verse, Durk mentions drinking urine, drawing comparisons to Kevin Gates, who openly discusses his interest in watersports.
Durk even goes as far as to claim that he mixes his wife’s urine with lean, although the meaning of the “OP” reference remains unclear. “I’m worse than Kevin Gates, I’m me (Yeah, yeah)/India know I’m down to drink pee (Woah, woah, woah, I-I-I)/OP, mix it with the lean (Yeah, yeah).”
As for public reaction to the leak, it’s mainly confusion. Some critics represent the increasingly conservative societal norms of our time, while others believe the verse actually improves the song.
However, the general consensus is mild confusion. After all, it’s just three lines in a 24-line verse, far from a video of Lil Durk drinking his wife’s urine. Nevertheless, it’s evident that this wasn’t the vibe Drake intended for the track.
