In recent years, Lil Wayne has been dropping hints about various upcoming projects, from ColleGrove II with 2 Chainz to Dedication 7 with DJ Drama, I Am Not A Human Being III, and even surprising fans with the announcement of Tha Carter VI in 2022. This came as a shock, as he had previously stated that 2018’s Tha Carter V would be the final chapter of this iconic series.
Today (Sept. 20), Weezy gave fans a glimpse by unveiling a pre-save link for a project titled “Tha Fix Before Tha VI,” complete with striking red-hued artwork. However, no further details, including the release date, have been disclosed. There’s speculation that “Tha Fix Before Tha VI” may feature previously released singles like “Kant Nobody” and “Kat Food.”
It’s been three years since Lil Wayne dropped his thirteenth studio album, “Funeral,” a 24-song opus featuring collaborations with Big Sean, Lil Baby, Jay Rock, Adam Levine, Takeoff, XXXTentacion, and more. The album soared to No. 1 on the Billboard 200, marking his fifth chart-topping record. A deluxe edition of “Funeral” followed, with an additional eight tracks and guest appearances from Doja Cat, Jessie Reyez, Lil Uzi Vert, Conway The Machine, and Benny The Butcher.
Then, the Hot Boys legend has maintained his prolific output, releasing “No Ceilings 3” and “Trust Fund Babies” – the latter a joint venture with Rich The Kid. He’s also lent his verses to a string of high-profile tracks, including Polo G’s “GANG GANG,” Drake’s “You Only Live Twice,” The Weeknd’s “I Heard You’re Married,” Chris Brown’s “Possessive,” DJ Khaled’s “GOD DID,” and most recently, Nas’ “Never Die” on Thursday (Sept. 14). Additionally, he’s made appearances at notable events like the Colorado Buffaloes’ game against the Colorado State Rams and the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.
