Sydney Leday, a 24-year-old woman who was present at the Texas shooting that resulted in the death of Migos rapper TakeOff, is speaking out for the first time about the incident. Leday believes that it is nothing short of a miracle that she is alive after the events of the night.
Leday was out partying at 810 Billiards and Bowling Alley, dressed as a nun for the holiday season. She had been looking forward to the opportunity to dress up, as she rarely does so for Halloween. However, as the night progressed, she found herself caught in the middle of a tragic event.
According to Leday, she witnessed an argument between Quavo and another party-goer around 2:30 am. The argument quickly escalated into a shooting, and before she knew it, Leday found herself in the middle of the chaos. She remembers falling to the ground and feeling a stinging sensation in the back of her head.
Despite the chaos and the danger, Leday’s friends acted quickly to get her to safety. They managed to get her down an escalator and into a car, rushing her to Memorial Hermann Hospital 12 minutes away. This act of quick thinking and bravery likely saved Leday’s life.

Leday shared that she is grateful to be alive and that she wants to raise awareness about the dangers of gun violence. She also expresses her condolences to the family of TakeOff and to the other victims who were affected by the shooting.
In an interview with KHOU 11, Leday said, “Like any other 24-year-old, I was just out partying and celebrating. I never thought I would be caught in the middle of something like this. I just want to raise awareness about the dangers of gun violence and to remind people to always be vigilant and aware of their surroundings.”
The incident is still under investigation and no arrest have been made yet. In the meantime, Leday is recovering from her injuries and trying to come to terms with the traumatic event she witnessed.
