Dame Dash has provided a fresh perspective on his ongoing issues with JAY-Z, asserting in a recent interview that he is prepared to reveal truths about the rap icon that others shy away from.
In a clip shared by the Ugly Money Podcast on Monday (June 10), the 53-year-old mogul delved into his tumultuous past with the “99 Problems” artist, employing a vivid metaphor to describe their well-documented rift.
“A lot of people that have been maybe mistreated by him are scared to speak up on what he did; I’m just not,”
Dash began.
He then likened their fallout to a drug deal gone wrong, expressing his belief that JAY-Z handled their business dealings unfairly.
“If I hit a n-gga with a pack — I hit him with some work — and he runs off on me … until I get my money back, I don’t care if it’s 20 years later, I’m never going to have too many complimentary things to say about that situation. Yeah, we was cool, but he ran off with 10 birds [kilos of cocaine], so what do you expect?
And a lot of people that say those things, they’ve never been in a position of being a person that cuts checks, works this hard and have had people at that level take them to court.”

Dame’s conflicts with his Roc-A-Fella Records co-founders remain unresolved, as disputes over the ownership of the iconic label continue to simmer.
In a previous interview on The GAUDS Show last year, he discussed his aspirations to reclaim control of the Hip Hop empire he helped establish alongside JAY-Z and Kareem “Biggs” Burke.
Dash’s latest comments shed light on the deep-seated grievances that have kept him and JAY-Z at odds. His willingness to speak out reflects a broader tension within the music industry, where power dynamics and financial disputes often lead to long-lasting feuds.
Despite the bitterness, Dash’s contributions to Roc-A-Fella Records‘ legacy are undeniable. The label was instrumental in shaping the careers of numerous artists and left an indelible mark on Hip Hop culture. However, as Dash continues to voice his frustrations, the path to reconciliation with JAY-Z seems increasingly unlikely.
As the narrative unfolds, it serves as a reminder of the complex relationships and high stakes in the music business. Dame Dash’s candidness offers a rare glimpse into the personal and professional challenges that accompany success in the rap game.
