Katt Williams is working on a new posthumous 2Pac album, and Cardi B is set to be a featured artist, according to a recent episode of Suge Knight’s Collect Call podcast. In the conversation, Suge expressed his excitement about the unreleased ‘Pac tracks and the various artists Katt plans to include. The comedian disclosed that the album will boast eight collaborators, ensuring only the best talents are featured.
When Suge inquired about Cardi B’s involvement, Katt confirmed, stating, “Absolutely.” Suge went on to liken Cardi B to the female version of 2Pac, to which Katt responded positively, emphasizing that everyone on the album contributes a piece of ‘Pac in their own way.
Taking a dig at Eminem’s 2004-produced posthumous album, “Loyal to the Game,” Suge referred to it as the only ‘Pac project that “flopped.” However, no specific details about the album, such as the source of 2Pac’s vocals or the involved producers, were revealed.
Despite numerous posthumous ‘Pac releases since his 1996 murder, recent speculations suggest a new wave of material. Last year, reports surfaced about the estate preparing to release four previously unreleased songs as part of a greatest hits album. Additionally, 2Pac associate E-Love and producer DJ Daryl hinted at unreleased tracks in their respective vaults.
In their 30-minute conversation, Katt Williams and Suge Knight also touched upon Jada Pinkett Smith, a close friend of 2Pac. Williams mentioned Jada coining the term “Katt Pac,” prompting Suge to defend her, stating she’s not as crazy as people believe and played a significant role in Will Smith’s career.
This development opens the door to an intriguing chapter in ‘Pac’s musical legacy, with Katt Williams at the helm of a project that aims to infuse new life into the late rapper’s iconic catalog.
