Kanye West, also known as Ye, has reignited his ongoing feud with fellow rapper Drake with a fiery remix of Future and Metro Boomin’s track “Like That.” The remix was unveiled during an episode of Justin Laboy’s podcast, “The Download,” on Saturday, April 20.
In a recent excerpt from an upcoming interview, Ye delved into the collaboration and shed light on his motivations behind the lyrics. He mentioned how Future, aka Pluto, reached out to him, leading to a studio session where they laid down the track.
Ye then elaborated on the creative process, including the addition of chords and the involvement of the Hooligans, a group associated with Inter Milan ultras, who previously contributed to Ye’s “CARNIVAL” from VULTURES 1.
However, the most headline-grabbing aspect of Ye’s interview snippet was his bold statement about the “elimination of Drake.” Ye emphasized the excitement and energy surrounding the perceived competition between them.
“Everybody is very, very excited about the elimination of Drake. Not excited; we were energized.”

In another clip making rounds online, Ye took aim at Universal Music Group CEO Lucian Grainge, accusing him of exerting excessive control over Drake’s career. Referencing Drake’s song “Rich Baby Daddy,” Ye suggested that Drake’s career decisions were heavily influenced by UMG and Grainge, whom he mockingly referred to as Drake’s “rich baby daddy.”
On Ye’s “Like That (Remix),” he further called out Lucian, implying that Drake serves him like a master and highlighting the reported lucrative deal between Drake and UMG.
Despite their temporary reconciliation at the 2021 Free Larry Hoover Benefit Concert, tensions between Ye and Drake have resurfaced, with both artists taking veiled shots at each other through their music. Drake sampled Kim Kardashian on “Search & Rescue” and mentioned Ye on “Red Button,” while Ye publicly expressed disdain towards Drake for touring with Lil Durk during the VULTURES 1 album rollout.
The feud between Ye and Drake adds another layer of drama to the dynamic landscape of hip-hop, keeping fans on the edge of their seats as they eagerly await the next move in this ongoing saga.
