G. Dep, who recently completed a lengthy prison sentence for m*rder, is expressing his willingness to collaborate with former mentor Diddy, despite the mogul’s recent legal troubles.
In an interview with Fox 5 New York on Monday, G. Dep discussed his plans now that he’s a free man again. He addressed Diddy’s ongoing legal issues, including allegations of se*ual abuse and misconduct, while expressing his desire to reconnect musically.
Referring to the accusations against Diddy, G. Dep seemed surprised, stating, “When? When did that happen?” He reminisced about their time in the studio together, suggesting that the allegations came out of nowhere. Despite the controversy surrounding Diddy, G. Dep advocated for giving people the benefit of the doubt, emphasizing that anyone can make accusations.
Directly addressing Diddy, G. Dep expressed his eagerness to collaborate, saying, “[I] got a lot of songs, bro. I’m looking for you so we can get some type of musical situation going.”
During a separate interview with The Art Of Dialogue, G. Dep revealed that Diddy never visited him in prison. Reflecting on his time behind bars, he acknowledged Diddy’s indirect outreach through videos and interviews but didn’t expect more, as he entered prison voluntarily.
G. Dep’s criminal history dates back to 1993 when he attempted to rob someone at gnpoint, resulting in the death of John Henkel. The mrder remained unsolved until 2010 when G. Dep confessed to the crime, leading to his sentencing of 15 years to life in prison.
In explaining his confession, G. Dep expressed a desire to restore balance to his life and bring closure to the victim’s family. He felt compelled to take responsibility for his actions, regardless of the consequences.
Despite his tumultuous past, G. Dep remains focused on his music career and is hopeful for a reunion with Diddy in the studio. As he continues to navigate life after prison, he seeks opportunities to make amends and move forward creatively.
